Next Big News!

Snow Angel has been nominated by Romance Writers of America® as a RITA® finalist in the First Books category!! The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in San Francisco on August 1st. I’m so thrilled and honored to be included in this group of talented writers!! To view the list of 2008 RITA finalists, visit www.rwanational.org/cs/2008_rita_finalists.

It was a long tough road to publication of this story. Being nominated validates my belief that God has great plans for this book! I'm so glad He wouldn't let me give up when the going got tough. (If you haven't heard my story on this, here is an interview describing it on Novel Journey - http://noveljourney.blogspot.com/2007/08/author-interview-jamie-carrie.html)

And here is my praise to the Lord!

Psalm 100
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Serve the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations. (NIV)

Be blessed by our great God!!

Presidential Elections - 2008

Psalm 2

"Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth take their stand
and the rulers gather together
against the Lord
and against his Anointed One.
Let us break their chains, they say
and throw off their fetters.
The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
the Lord scoffs at them.
Then he rebukes them in his anger
and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
"I have installed by King
on Zion, my holy hill.
I will proclaim the decree of the Lord:
He said to me, "You are my Son;
today I have become your Father.
Ask of me,
and I will make the nations your inheritance,
the ends of the earth your possession.
You will rule them with an iron scepter;
you will dash them to pieces like pottery."
Therefore, you kings, be wise;
be warned, you rulers of the earth.
Serve the Lord with fear
and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry
and you be destroyed in your way,
for his wrath can flare up in a moment.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him. (NIV)

Wow. This scripture makes me think of the upcoming elections. How God is really in control, has given His son, Jesus, rulership over us but He still cautions us to be wise, serve him with fear and kiss the Son (give homage to Him). I'm glad He added that line at the end!

I've been so busy lately that I haven't really prayed very much about the upcoming presidential election. (To be honest I don't like any of the candidates;). I plan to remedy that though. It's important to take up our role as citizens and prayerfully vote. I know God is in ultimate control of this earth, but I forgot that I have a role and responsibility to do my part.

Any thoughts?

Friend, Leanna Ellis, On The Harvest Show!

My writing buddy, Leanna Ellis http://www.leannaellis.com/ has written a wonderful novel, Elvis Takes a Backseat and will be interviewed today on The Harvest Show. If you would like to see the interview online, go to http://www.harvest-tv.com/ and click on today's date - March 3rd. She is such a warm, lovely person, I know the interview will be great.
Here's the blurb for her book:
A young widow, determined to fulfill her husband’s last request, hauls a three foot bust of Elvis strapped in the back seat of a vintage Cadillac from Texas to Memphis to return it to its rightful owner. The road trip with her eccentric aunt, who knew the King of Rock n’ Roll, and a temperamental teen, who’s hiding her pregnancy, hits roadblocks and detours as the three women uncover pieces of their own past along with the bust’s mysterious history. The discoveries change the course of their lives forever.
Happy reading!!
